Information on mental health services in Croydon
On the 3rd November Ruby Wax and Judith Owen came to Wilson's School, Wallington, where they showcased their new show 'Losing it' to service users and professionals.
Ruby Wax, best known for her TV documentaries and interviews, had her own experience of mental health problems and has put together a show with Judith Owen to raise awareness.
"Many people commented on how powerful the show was. It was extraordinary to put together a show that made people laugh their socks off, think about the meaning of life and feel empowered to talk about their own mental health problems - and to accompany all this with music and songs that complimented everything so well. I heard adjectives like "profound", "hilarious", "challenging" and "life-affirming" from people. I'm sure that the show, when it reaches a wider audience, will get a similar response." Richard Pacitti, Chief Executive - Mind in Croydon.
The show will be on in London starting in February, if you wish to purchase tickets you can do so by phoning the Menier Chocloate Factory Box Office on 020 7907 7060, or online at www.menierchocolatefactory.com.
