Well done Swimathon Team!

At the Purley Swimathon last Thursday evening a group of nine service users, carers, family members and staff of Mind in Croydon and Hear Us completed the Purley Rotary Club Swimathon to raise funds for Mind in Croydon.

We completed between 97 and 99 lengths of the pool in our allotted time (depending on who you listen to) with the service users most definitely outshining the staff.

Everyone enjoyed the event greatly and with the exception of one minor near drowning incident (by Peter Rogers, Active Minds) did ourselves proud. Special mention must go to Janice for taking part for as long as she could and Sarah for completing the last length with an Olympian finish.

Sadly by the time some (one) of the ladies (Jane, Hear Us) had finished getting changed and doing her hair it was the middle of the night and the rest of the team had departed for bed so we were unable to get a group photo but will hopefully rectify this when we receive our certificates.

A huge thanks also to everyone who supported us in what was being widely described as a foolhardy venture but ended in success for all involved.

We will hopefully find out how much we raised sometime this week and anyone who would still like to support us can do so on the Mind in Croydon MyDonate page  https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/mindincroydon1
