Employment and Social Inclusion
Mind in Croydon's Employment and Social Inclusion Service aims to support people with mental health problems to take part in mainstream social, leisure and educational activities within the community, including helping people to access open employment. Orchard House acts as a "hub" from which people can access a range of mainstream services. It also acts as a focal point and resource for all the agencies interested in helping people to participate in and contribute to the wider community.
Mind in Croydon's Employment and Social Inclusion Service comprises a number of inter-related services, these are:
Orchard House
Services Located at Orchard House

Active Minds supports people to become more active and involved in their local community, through taking up sports, hobbies and leisure interests. The service also offers advice on healthy living, and runs groups including boxercise, gym & swim and the allotment.

Supported Employment Services including work preparation, job search, completing application forms, and accessing the full range of employment opportunities including voluntary work.
Mind in Croydon Furniture Service, this includes collection and removal services, a newly established soft furnishing services and administrative support. -
Conference Centre, run and managed by service users looking to acquire the skills for open employment. Duties include general admin, reception and promotional work.

Hear Us (the local mental health service user group) is also located at Orchard House, and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust use some of the rooms for training.

Walking
From Brighton Rd: On the corner of Brighton Rd and Purley Rd is the Purley Arms, turn into Purley rd, Orchard House is the large Cream building on your left.
By Bus
466, 60 and 407 buses on Brighton Rd.
From central Croydon: get off the bus at the stop after the Red deer pub. The stop is called Sanderstead Road.
From Purley: Get off the bus at the stop after the Total Garage. The stop is called Sanderstead Road.
By Car
Purley Rd is a one way road exiting onto Brighton rd.
From central Croydon: take the left turn onto Sanderstead Road at the Red Deer pub, then take the next right onto Purley Road.
From Purley: take the right turn at the Red Deer pub onto Sanderstead Road, then take the next right onto Purley Road.
By Train
Orchard House is a 10 to 15 min walk from Sanderstead and Purley oaks train stations. Trains run from Victoria and London Bridge via east and south Croydon
Enterprise House
Enterprise House is a work experience resource centre for people with mental health problems. It aims through a programme of work-based tasks to create an environment in which the individual worker can regain the skills and confidence necessary for independent life in the community. We offer training in customer service, general merchandising and IT skills.
