I was involved in undertaking a wide range of duties which made placement interesting and worthwhile. Everyday seemed to have its own challenges, dilemmas and learning opportunities. A really beneficial placement which changed my stereotypical assumptions about mental health services users for life.
Mental Health training courses
Training courses can be run for agencies on a range of mental health related issues. We also offer courses for companies wishing to promote everyday well-being for employees who may be at risk from the effects of stress. Walsingham Care Homes - Vic Green
Due to the opening of a new project for adults with mild learning disabilities and mental health needs, we decided to ensure that the staff were trained in mental health awareness. I contacted Mind in Croydon and arranged for a training day at a local centre.
The day was extremely well planned and the content was exactly what we were looking for. All staff found the day very informative and educational. One member commented: It kept my interest at all times, I feel more confident now in being able to support the service users

Mind in Croydon has been delivering training on mental heath for many years to the volunteers of Home-Start Croydon. The training that Mind delivers is invaluable to us as it provides the volunteers with a real and extremely useful insight into the field of mental health which is relative to the families they will be supporting.
