  7. Community Mental Health Advocacy

A project for any Croydon resident who may wish to access the services of a mental health advocate, who do not meet the criteria required to access an IMHA.

  • Would you like an advocate to support you in getting your voice heard?
  • Do you feel you aren’t being listened to with regard to your medical care and treatment?
  • Someone to help you attend meetings and speak on your behalf, or just for moral support?
  • Maybe you want to understand your legal options, rights and choices?

Mental health advocates are independent of the clinical team and can meet you confidentially to discuss your concerns and help you explore your options.

This is a free service that Mind in Croydon provides for Croydon residents.

If you want to discuss your situation with an advocate and see if we can help please contact us on the details above to make a referral.

Waiting List

The service currently has an approximate waiting list of 2-4 weeks for all community referrals. The service aims to acknowledge and respond to enquiries within 72 hours, with a view to raising a referral to be allocated to an advocate within 2-4 weeks.
